I just read your response to my question on W...Hi. I just read your response to my question on Walk Slowly Live Wildly, and I hopped over to your blog. Thanks for your answers. They make perfect sense. So now I have a question about this. I try hard not to make my 3 year old eat a healthy diet. But I do teach him. If he asks for a candy, I will allow it, but I remind him not to eat too much. He is so good, then just to have a bite or a few licks, usually. So here's the thing: how would a 3 year old know what is healthy if I don't teach it? AND, we have a family FULL of junk food eaters. We live by my parents and in-laws, and they are more than happy to pass out the junk food. So if I'm not really saying anything, and they are making all the fuss, "Have some soda!" how is he ever going to learn the healthy way? We see them quite a bit. Anyway, I can see that as far as I have been stand-off-ish (I hardly ever say, "no you can't have that") it seems to be a positive. But the teaching of the opposite is coming at him loud and clear.

Thanks.Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04742195103810186475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1989323354397588558.post-30847131931473023572010-04-20T13:52:25.532-07:002010-04-20T13:52:25.532-07:00I use this recipe http://vegweb.com/index.php?topi...I use this recipe http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=6391.0 for the cookies. It calls for 1 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water, but I use 3/4 cups honey instead and just a dash of water because the honey makes the whole thing more liquid.

For the raw cookies.... I used a recipe off some website, and they taste great but are too oily. So, I will have to figure out how much oil to use, then I will post the recipe. If you just google "raw chocolate chip cookies" you'll come up with a lot of recipes.Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07881159576832672568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1989323354397588558.post-84372805079373041342010-04-20T12:41:53.594-07:002010-04-20T12:41:53.594-07:00Ah, I can totally relate to this post! :) Thank yo...Ah, I can totally relate to this post! :) Thank you for sharing. I think I'm at the same point, although (after moving from Holland to the UK last November) I've gained several pounds/kilo's, due to too much sugar. I really want to go back to no sugar, but need a switch! I'd be really happy if you would share the cookie recipes! :))

Mirjam :)Mirjamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07199049683771766525noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1989323354397588558.post-43074765547766563312010-04-17T14:41:29.931-07:002010-04-17T14:41:29.931-07:00I am so happy to hear someone else come to the sam...I am so happy to hear someone else come to the same place I just reached. I am giving up my attempts to control, both in food and homeschool. Radical unschooling and diet are very similar. We create the right environment, teach when asked, and provide classics in books and food. What a happy place to be!Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06758454005028176334noreply@blogger.com
